Active Surface Tracking System by Roland

One of the most outstanding features of the EGX-20 is AST or the Automatic Surface Tracking System. With AST, the height of the material being engraved is automatically tracked for the purpose of ensuring that the engraving process is conducted at a steady depth, regardless of whether the surface is bowed or non-uniform. While other similar systems require an extensive learning curve, Roland’s Active Surface Tracking System makes it possible to set the origin point and cutting depth with almost zero effort. Now producing results that are consistent in beauty and quality can become an everyday occurrence. With the EGX-20 desktop engraver, you waste zero time and zero materials.

Engraving Materials

Because the EGX-20 Portable Engraving Machine boasts a strong 15,000-rpm spindle motor, it has the power and capability to be able to handle engraving on a vast array of popular materials. These materials include but are not limited to acrylics, wood, PVS, polycarbonate and wood. The optional diamond scraper and burnishing attachment can be used for scribing light metals like brass and aluminium for awards. On the other hand, the included adhesive sheet allows you to easily secure the material to the worktable. Once the material that is going to be engraved has been selected, the EGX-20 engraver is able to determine the optimum cutting speed and tool path, guaranteeing results that are nothing short of flawless.
